Client: Biztech, Inc./Yeshiva University Norristown, PA

Responsible for code, test, debug, and documenting of several custom PL/SQL and shell scripts to implement flat file interfaces to parties outside the university.  Also wrote SQL*Loader scripts to read flat files, and load them into Banner tables. Work was conducted in an Oracle 11g environment, running on a Redhat Linux server.

Client: Direct Marketing Alliance, Inc. Montgomeryville, PA

Responsible for processing client mailing lists in a Microsoft networked drive environment.

Processing included file layout creation, data import from Excel spreadsheets, zip encoding, presorting, generation of postage statements and qualification reports, and output of bar coded ink jet label images, using Mail Manager.

Performed merge/purge operations where needed with the Double Take software tool.  Wrote state and country count reports via SQL queries from the Visual FoxPro database package.

Client: Sungard Collegis, Inc./Immaculata University Immaculata, PA

Wrote flat file feeds for a Banner Finance environment, supporting invoicing and refund processing, in Pro*C.

Installed and configured Evisions check processing software for Accounts Payable office.

Tuned and executed SQL scrubbing scripts to prepare student and financial aid environments for production.

VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY  Villanova, PA

Senior Programmer/Analyst

Developed large warehouse table population routines in support of the general person table, and alumni/constituent gift management efforts and supervised their ongoing storage/tuning needs over time.

Conducted full life cycle development of a complex automated feed to replace manual keying of paper invoices for Accounts Payable, implemented in Oracle’s Pro*C on a Sun Solaris platform. Vendors now send structured flat files to the office for significantly faster loading, validation, and check disbursement.

Built and maintained graphical FormFusion Document Templates under Evisions suite of products for more professional print processing of Purchase Orders, Requisitions, and Direct Deposit acknowledgements, and heavily customized the driving job submission script to support submission of both Evisions jobs and compiled SQR reporting jobs.

Developed highly-integrated interactive web forms using PL/SQL and HTML for Procurement and Parking office applications, winning the Villanova Quality Improvement Award for parking.

Wrote mailing label generation facility for parking using Oracle Discoverer data extracts fed to MS-Word, and wrote VB calls for parking legacy forms built in MS-Access, in response to campus wide migration away from SSN-based IDs.

Added system security subroutine calls to 700 locally developed SQR batch jobs with AWK-based shell scripting techniques, closing off a significant gap in the university’s data security implementation.

Provided strong technical guidance to management and colleagues in migrating legacy Oracle forms from character mode into the GUI environment, across the finance, general, student, and alumni Banner products.

AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING/AUTO TELL SERVICES, King of Prussia, PA

Developed, enhanced and maintained interactive screen, batch process, and reporting routines implemented in Micro Focus COBOL on dual Unix platforms. Enhancements included new master file design, implementation and data conversion, while supporting vehicle inventory and customer tracking applications within fully integrated suite of automobile dealership management products.

Responsible for screen enhancements to a manufacturer specified direct warranty data collection and transmission system written in C language.

Completed migration of products to DEC Alpha Unix platform, and applied corporate Y2K compliance standards to vehicle and customer applications.

Technical Specialist

Lead technician in substantial redevelopment effort of an add-on reporting and mailing-label processing system implemented with FOCUS and the FOCUS interface to Oracle.  Managed 5700 files across 8 Banner products from automated construction via SQL and AWK, problem resolution, porting to external machines, independent testing on VAX and Unix platforms, through coordinated delivery and documentation, with dramatic improvement in client and product support personnel satisfaction.

Upgraded Banner forms to SQL*Forms release 4.0, as part of mass migration to GUI technology standard.

Recompiled and standardized all payroll C and COBOL routines in response to Oracle V7 upgrade.

Automated payroll process to increase turnaround times for technicians, consultants, and users, through a comprehensive and re-startable Bourne shell script.

Primary developer in implementing complex salary and fringe encumbrance calculation facility using embedded SQL in C, receiving the Achievement of Client Excellence Award upon project completion.

Member of corporate standards committee on C, responsible for adopting and documenting standards, and in making C tools available to development community.

Wrote and executed conversion scripts against 1700 production forms to make forms across multiple products comply with corporate standards for object library access and handling of century processing in date fields, using text processing tools as part of  a migration from SQL*Forms release 2.3 to 3.0.

Served as backup to product DBA, resolving and logging database structure changes, new tables, views, and grants through restricted accounts, and prepared release upgrade scripts and documentation.
